On our trips through Dalmatia, some places take your breath away — the Spring of the Cetina River is definitely one of them. Hidden at the foot of the Dinara mountains, this stunning spring is called “the Eye of the Earth.” And it’s easy to see why: from above, its oval shape and deep blue colors look like a giant eye staring right at you.

The water is so clear it almost feels unreal, shifting from turquoise to deep sapphire depending on the light. Standing at the edge and looking down (over 100 meters, still unexplored!) feels magical. The quiet here makes you whisper, as if the spring itself demands respect.

✨ Fun facts about the Cetina Spring:

  • Next to it stands the 9th-century Church of the Holy Salvation, one of Croatia’s oldest medieval churches.
  • Divers have reached 115 meters, but the bottom is still a mystery.
  • The water is icy all year — around 7–8°C.

Visiting the spring leaves more than photos behind. It leaves awe, wonder, and a deep connection with nature. This is why we travel — to feel alive, to be amazed, and to enjoy the intimate beauty of Croatia’s hidden gems. 💫
